Overview:
As part of Meta’s celebration for National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), I led the creative and production efforts for a community event in partnership with Kings County Tennis League (KCTL) — a Brooklyn-based nonprofit empowering youth through tennis and mentorship.
The event welcomed KCTL students and parents to Meta’s New York office for an evening of workshops, storytelling, and career exploration. It was built entirely with no external budget powered by internal collaboration, trusted relationships, and Meta employees who generously donated their time to make it a success.
The Goal:
Create a resourceful, meaningful, and mentorship-driven experience for young girls, highlighting the creative career paths in sports beyond being an athlete.
The Creative Solution
-
I led both creative and operational aspects of the event:
Directed visual identity, layout, and presentation design
Produced collateral and digital assets to support the run-of-show
Coordinated cross-functional Meta teams to secure speakers, facilitators, and space — all on a zero-budget basis
Oversaw the full event experience, from concept to execution
-
This was a multi-part, purpose-driven evening that included:
Safety & storytelling workshops led by Meta teams
A Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses demo & content workshop with Will Congdon
A Q&A session with Reshina Warren (Head of Social, USTA), moderated by Christina Brown
Discussions on finding your voice, building creative confidence, and using technology to shape your future
Each moment was tailored to empower young girls by showing them the range of possibilities behind the scenes in sports, tech, and storytelling.
-
Strengthened Meta’s community presence in Brooklyn
Offered KCTL youth a unique, empowering experience inside a global tech space
Highlighted Meta’s support of nontraditional career journeys in sports and media
Earned strong internal feedback and interest in replicating this format in other regions
-
Events like this are a reminder of how creative platforms can go beyond campaigns and into impact. From designing the visual identity to shaping the atmosphere, it was an honor to help bring Meta’s mission of empowerment to life in a way that felt personal, purposeful, and full of possibility.
